Hello, I just have a question about the uploadprogress... I purchase the script earlier this week, and love it, everything is working great except the uploadprogress... Which I went over the requirements, and I know it's an extension. My host does not have that extension, and is not willing to install it for me...

So it seems like my only options are to upgrade to a VPS server, that would give me access to install the extension. The thing is though everything works fine except the uploadprogress bar. So to upgrade to a VPS it would be an additional $20 for just the one feature, seems pointless...

So my question is, is there any way around this?

Thanks!

No there is no way around it.

You do not need a VPS, our recommended host does have the uploadprogress extension installed on their servers:

Thanks for the reply, good info... A few more questions, now that I have to think about switching hosts.

How would I know if my current host has either of these installed?

# Apache mod_flvx Video Streaming
Apache web server with mod_flvx installed.

# Apache mod_h264 Video Streaming (HD)
Apache web server with mod_h264 installed.

My site does play video, and I uploaded a test HD vid, and that worked fine as well. So I would assume so, but want to be positive.

Also when a video is uploaded by a user, it's a still thumb and not a rotating thumb, is this normal?

Is there a time limit for the videos that are downloaded via the pornhub downloader? Seems like if I do a vid that is over 25 minutes, it will time out.
Is this a matter of changing the recommended php settings in php.ini, or is this just the script?

Thanks ahead of time, sorry so many questions, just want to get everything working 100%. =)

Update:

So I have switched over to Arvixe, very pleased so far, I had them install the uploadprogress. But unfortunately it's still not working, I ran the example script that comes with the extension, and the progress bar works fine. So I'm curious what could be associated with the progress bar, I have verified all requirements as far as extensions and also chmod and the php.ini, all are fine.

The rotating thumbs were fixed by switching to Arvixe.

The pornhub downloader still times out on longer videos.

Also still curious how I would know if my host has mod_flvx and mod_x264 installed, what do they do?

Thanks!

No, shared hosts do not have those additional requirements.
