The session time is set by your server, you need to have your web host increase it.

9gag.com uses PHP for login FB but this script uses JS. That is problem :(

The script does not use js for login, it uses php, that is why you have to increase your server's php session timeout.

Not quite true, some coding can be added as well.

For example:

session_cache_expire( 20 ); session_start(); // NEVER FORGET TO START THE SESSION!!! $inactive = 1200; //20 minutes *60 if(isset($_SESSION['start']) ) { $session_life = time() - $_SESSION['start']; if($session_life > $inactive){ header("Location: user_logout.php"); } } $_SESSION['start'] = time(); if($_SESSION['valid_user'] != true){ header('Location: ../....php'); }else{

Just a simple suggestion for one of the future script upgrades.

hey there
I'm looking for a solution to this as well. The problem is that once the browser is closed and then reopened the user has to login again. I would like to have a remember me functionality. Even if there is no checkbox I'd like the remember me to be the default login type. I'll just write some text warning the user that once he logs in he will remain logged in even after the browser is closed.

So does anyone have a solution? The zottiri.com site has this almost done. First time the browser is closed and then reopened the login is remember and user is still logged in. But after a second close and reopen the user is logged out. Can you tell us what you did and maybe we can improve it?

It's very simple guys.. just edit ur PHP.ini file in the hosting server and change following:
"session.cookie_lifetime"=15778463
"session.gc_maxlifetime"=15778463

(please note 15778463 value is for 6 months - you may give a preferable value)

If you don't know how to edit PHP.ini file, just contact hosting provider support

Cheers!!
